Sit back and enjoy the unique Hirschen experience.
History
The Hirschen originally dates to 1740, first known as the Stube and later as the Stube-Hirschenpost.
Domenicus was succeeded by Franz-Xaver Weber, whose daughter Anna married Josef Baumgartner in 1921. He was followed by Franz and subsequently, in 1986, by his sons and hosts Cornelius and Werner, who expanded the 600-year-old inn with a new hotel building for the new millennium, opening the Hotel Hirschen in 2005.
Today the ninth generation – whose other regional flagship project, the Nouri Hotel, reopened in 2023 – is ushering the historic Hirschen into a new era of hospitality and culinary culture.

Sustainability
As Freiburgers sustainability, attentive resource-management and the environment are close to our hearts.
A large solar PV system, climate-friendly groundwater cooling and heating and large air-to-air heat exchangers, recovering up to 70 per cent of heating/cooling, enable us to achieve a 40 per cent reduction in primary energy consumption compared to conventional hotels of this size.
Although built in 2005, the hotel thus remains a benchmark in energy efficiency even today.
